Half-day river trips are ideal for first time floaters or those wishing to enjoy whitewater excitement who only have a limited amount of time available. These whitewater rafting trips are generally ten miles in length and about three hours long - from start to finish.

No single river experience anywhere in the world can be compared to Colorado's Arkansas River offering close to 100 miles of navigable water ranging from introductory floating to world class river rapids excitement!

Families and First Time Rafters

Bighorn Sheep Canyon / Parkdale Run
Bighorn Sheep Canyon offers just the right blend of mild to moderate excitement with miles of scenic beauty. As the name implies Bighorn Sheep populate this area extensively and are sometimes spotted along the banks of the river or along the rugged mountain-sides. All trips check in 45 minutes prior to scheduled departure. Be sure to check out our exclusive Raft-n-Rail package for a truly unique day along the historic Arkansas River corridor.

Daily departures at 9:30 or 10:00 a.m., and 2:00 p.m.

Family Float Trip

Enjoy a gentle six mile half day Family Float trip on the Arkansas River as we navigate class I and II whitewater past lush Cottonwood groves and rugged rocky bluffs. Intended for families with young children or those looking for a just a taste of whitewater rafting. Keep an eye out for Falcons, Eagles and a variety of other birdlife and wildlife in the dense foliage along this section of river known as Swallows Canyon.

Daily departures at 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Adult: $49     Child* (12 and under): $39

*Minimum weight 35 pounds for children; no age restrictions.

Adventure Class Whitewater

Royal Gorge
The Royal Gorge offers the best continuous whitewater in Colorado. While navigating such rapids as Sunshine Falls, Sledgehammer and Boat Eater you will pass beneath the famous Royal Gorge Bridge which stands almost 1100 feet above the surface of the river. Guests must be in good physical condition and able to swim.

Daily departures at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.      

Half-day (10 Miles): $66 weekdays    $71 weekends

Minimum age depends on water levels. All guests must be in good physical condition.

Upper Canyon Half-day Trips

Upper Canyon trips depart from our Four Corners office. When booking you will be linked directly to our Four Corners web site.

Browns Canyon
Browns Canyon is considered the best family rafting trip in the United States and parallels a Wilderness Study Area throughout the inner canyon offering fun and friendly rapids such as Pinball, Zoom Flume, Big Drop and others. Upper Canyon trips depart from our Four Corners office. When booking you will be linked directly to our Four Corners web site.

Daily departures at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Half-day (10 miles):

Adult: $49

The Numbers
The Numbers section of the Arkansas offers a wonderful combination of fast moving water with non-stop action — Class IV-V Rapids! This trip begins at well over 8,000 feet in elevation and is unlike any other trip on the river offering splendid views of the continental divide.

Half-day (6 Miles): $66 weekdays    $71 weekends

Our Adrenaline Rafts are smaller and designed to aggressively navigate even the most challenging rapids. A maximum group size of four paddlers results in a more exciting and exclusive experience.
