Multi Day River Trips Make Your Vacation Simple and Easy

You may be asking yourself why not simply reserve several full day raft trips and save some money along the way. This is certainly an option to consider, but isn’t a vacation supposed to be, well, relaxing and easy? Echo Canyon’s multi day rafting trips take the logistics, planning and headache out of the equation. Camping requires so much gear to do it right and be comfortable. And rafting usually requires wetsuits and other gear to stay warm and comfortable – items you have to pay a little more for on full day trips. On all of Echo Canyon’s multi day rafting trips all of this is included. We are pros when it comes to all of the amenities necessary to enjoy the river and camping experience, and you will certainly be impressed with the food we serve on our multi day whitewater rafting trips.

Colorado Rafting Adventure!

Depending on the length of your multi day whitewater rafting trip, you could see a number of stretches of the Arkansas River. The headwaters of the Arkansas River is near Leadville, Colorado, not far upstream from The Numbers, a challenging and scenic section of Class IV-V whitewater. Below The Numbers you’ll encounter Browns Canyon which is adjacent to the newly designated Browns Canyon National Monument, a gorgeous section of the Arkansas River Valley that boasts towering red rock mountains, stately pine trees, and crystal-clear water that is also a haven for fishermen. Downstream from Browns Canyon you’ll find Bighorn Sheep Canyon, a historic section of the Arkansas River Valley in which you will encounter Class II-IV white water. Rapids like Five Points, Spikebuck, and Shark’s Tooth will have you paddling and laughing for miles. Following Bighorn Sheep Canyon, you may (depending on the ages and abilities of your group) enter the Royal Gorge. Cliff walls over 1,000 feet high rise up from the canyon floor as you enter this fascinating and thrilling section. Class IV rapids will keep you and your group on your toes as you battle rapids such as Sunshine Falls, Boateater, and Wallslammer.

For more information on the sections of white water that you could see on one of Echo Canyon’s  multi day whitewater rafting trips, please visit the Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area’s website.
