What to Expect Rafting Clear Creek

Ready for an adventure on one of Colorado’s most exciting stretches of whitewater? In addition to the incredible scenery, our Intermediate Upper Clear Creek rafting trip will fulfill your need for high-adventure! Upon beginning your Clear Creek white water rafting trip, you’ll hop into the boat and enter your first class IV rapid right off the bat (or should we say “paddle”?).  This run is both technical and steep, with plenty of drops and moves. We also offer a Clear Creek white water rafting ¾ day trip, which includes a full 15 miles of rafting along some of the most exciting and gorgeous stretches of whitewater in the country. You’ll get good and warmed up in the morning on the class III section, enjoy a nice lunch break, and then hit the class IV’s in the afternoon. Regardless of which trip you choose, rafting Clear Creek will no doubt give you plenty of adventure!

Rafting Clear Creek will satisfy even the most discerning adventure-seekers! You won’t find a slow introduction to whitewater rafting here, as your trip will begin immediately with a wet and wild class IV rapid. This technical and steep run will keep you on your toes and provide plenty of thrills throughout the trip. If you can manage to keep your eyes open, be on the lookout for native wildlife, including Bighorn Sheep, river otters, and deer. Take things up a notch and paddle adventure-class whitewater with our Clear Creek rafting Intermediate Half-Day or ¾ Day trips.

Clear Creek Rafting – Make a Day of it

We can’t think of a better way to spend an entire day in Colorado, and if you agree, we invite you to join us on our ¾ day Clear Creek white water rafting trip. Rather than starting off fast and furious, on the full-day trip, you’ll get a brief warm-up in the morning as we paddle a class II and III section of whitewater. Consider this “getting your feet wet”. You’ll work up an appetite just in time for a delicious, hot BBQ lunch served riverside. After enjoying lunch and a brief break, we’ll crank up the excitement and head to the Intermediate Clear Creek rafting section where you’ll take on a steep and technical class IV rapids. A great rafting trip for families with older teens or young adults, this ¾ day run will soak you to the bone and send you hope with big smiles and a lifetime of fantastic memories.

Both of our Upper Clear Creek white water rafting tips – the ¾ day and the half-day – are physically demanding trips, and all guests should be in good physical condition. Clear Creek rafting trips depart from our rafting partner – AVA – office near Idaho Springs, just 45 minutes from Denver. We’re also only about 1 hour from Breckenridge, Colorado, making us the perfect day-trip from any location near the Front Range or Summit County.  Please note that the minimum age requirement for all Clear Creek white water rafting trips is 15 years of age.
