Browns Canyon is considered one of the best Colorado rafting trips in the United States and parallels a wilderness study area. Offering amazing scenic views and abundant wildlife, our Browns Canyon trip is known as one of the best family float trips on the Arkansas River. On this journey down the Arkansas, periods of calm water are peppered with stretches of fun and friendly rapids such as Pinball, Zoom Flume, Big Drop and others. Your Full-day trip includes a scrumptious steak lunch served at our private riveside lunch site in Browns Canyon. Browns Canyon trips depart from our Four Corners/ Buffalo Joes office in Buena Vista.

Daily departures at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Half-day (10 miles)

The Numbers

This section of the Arkansas is considered by many to be the the most extreme adrenaline rush on the Arkansas River! Beginning at nearly 9,000 feet in elevation, this section requires the negotiation on a bevy of fierce obstacles using tight maneuvers. A stretch of whitewater that's not for the faint of heart, this rafting adventure delivers some of the most exciting rapids on the Arkansas River.

Due to the vigorous nature of this section of Adventure-Class Whitewater, all participants must be in good physical condition and have the ability to swim. Availability is limited, so please call for more information. Numbers trips depart from our Four Corners/ Buffalo Joes office in Buena Vista.

The minimum age requirement for this trip is 15 to 18 years depending on water levels.
