Whitewater Wine-n-Dine™

The Whitewater Wine & Dine™ combines a world-class rafting experience with fine French cuisine and a night’s stay at two of Cañon City’s finest establishments. Depending on the full-day trip that you choose, you will raft about 20 miles on the Arkansas River near Cañon City. Beautiful scenery abounds in this alpine desert environment, where you may encounter Bighorn Sheep, Red-Tail Hawks, or other native wildlife.

You need to check in to the Echo Canyon office 45 minutes prior to your departure time. We have restrooms and changing rooms available on site and recommend that you bring a change of clothes for after your rafting trip. Please use your car as a locker for all valuables and our office will keep your keys on our key board while you are on the trip. Upon check-in you will receive your vouchers for dinner. After you have checked in to the office, rented all necessary gear and received your PFD and / or helmet, we will then transport you upstream to the “put in.” Before you begin your rafting trip, your guide will instruct you on river safety and paddling technique.

All trips include about one and a half hours riding the rapids in the morning, followed by a delicious deli-style sandwich buffet, complete with side salads, fresh fruit, chips and home-made salsa, cookies, and refreshments. Following lunch the remainder of your day depends of what full day trip option you selected at time of booking.

At the end of your trip you will be transported back to our office. (For those on the Raft-n-Rail®, a clearly-marked Echo Canyon bus or van will be stationed at the south side of the Santa Fe Depot.) Once you have returned to the office you can view photos of your trip and check out our gift shop. At your leisure, make your way into town to the Jewel of the Canyons Bed and Breakfast, where you will stay the night. The B&B’s owners will welcome you to their “lovingly restored 1890 Queen Anne home” where your delightfully decorated room awaits.

Reservations will have been arranged for you to have dinner at Le Petit Chablis, conveniently located three to four blocks from Jewel of the Canyons, on Highway 50. You will enjoy a delectable three-course French meal complete with soup du jour or house salad, choice of entrées (fresh fish of the day, chicken, pork or beef), desserts of choice, café and a bottle of featured wine selected by the house.

A. Turn left (east) onto Hwy 50 from the Echo Office Drive approx. 8 miles into Cañon City Turn left (north) onto 5th St. and proceed three blocks to Greenwood Avenue. The B&B is located at the NW corner of 5th and Greenwood.

B. Le Petit Chablis is located between 5th and 6th street on the south side of Hwy 50 (also known as Royal Gorge Blvd.).
