Raft and ATV™ Package

On our Raft & ATV trip, you will begin your day rafting a half day section of the Arkansas River. Families and first time rafters can raft the class III rapids of Bighorn Sheep Canyon, while adventure-seekers can choose the class IV Royal Gorge section of world-class whitewater. We will then offer you a hearty lunch before you drive about 25 minutes to Play Dirty ATV Tours at Texas Creek. Groups of 4 or more receive a complimentary shuttle ride! For the next two hours you and your guide will explore stunning vistas of the Arkansas River Valley and snow-capped 14,000 foot mountain peaks. Children ride with parents on special side-by-side ATVs.

On our Raft & ATV trip your party will need to check in at the Echo Canyon office 45 minutes prior to your trip’s departure time. Arrive in clothing appropriate for rafting or use our changing facilities. You may use your car as a locker for all valuables and our office will keep your keys on our key board while you are on the trip. We will depart the office and travel about fifteen minutes to the launch point for your raft trip.

For those groups choosing Bighorn Sheep Canyon, you will enjoy miles of exciting and splashy whitewater through a number of class II and III rapids. While navigating the rapids you may see Bighorn Sheep, Golden Eagles and a variety of other wildlife along the rugged canyon slopes. Relax at our private river landing after your rafting adventure and enjoy a delicious deli-style sandwich buffet, complete with side salads, fresh fruit, chips and salsa, cookies, and refreshments. After lunch, you will board Echo transportation and a short shuttle will bring you back to our river office where photographs of your raft trip will be awaiting you inside our office; be sure to check out who was really paddling!

For those booking our Royal Gorge ATV package, you’ll paddle ten miles of exciting class III and IV whitewater with impressive views as we travel through the 1200 foot deep Royal Gorge of the Arkansas River. After a short shuttle ride back to our office we’ll serve you a delicious boxed lunch for you enjoy at our shaded picnic area.

Next, you’ll change into attire appropriate for ATV riding; closed-toe shoes and jeans or long pants are required. Helmets, goggles, gloves and rainwear are provided free of charge at Play Dirty. Groups of 4 or more can take advantage of the free shuttle ride from Echo Canyon to Texas Creek; smaller groups need to arrive at Play Dirty’s office by 2:00 p.m. for your two hour ATV ride. The pace of the trip is determined by the skill level of riders, and all ATV guides are First Aid trained. Your ATV tour takes you well above the Arkansas River Valley and offers awesome views of snow-capped 14,000 foot peaks.
