Picture thousand foot cliffs jutting into the air on either side of a winding river as you paddle alongside family, old friends, and new friends. If that sounds like a good time to you, you should come see us at Echo Canyon and let us take you rafting through the Royal Gorge! This is a world class piece of whitewater in truly humbling surroundings that is sure to get your adrenaline pumping.

The Royal Gorge white water rafting trip is for those with a sense of adventure. It boasts class III and IV rapids on the Arkansas River, twisting through the heart of the Royal Gorge and under the famous Royal Gorge Bridge. You’ll be humbled as you paddle down the river, between two 1,000 foot cliffs. You’ll be in a raft with a trained and certified whitewater rafting guide, paddling along with the guide’s commands through rapids such as Sunshine Falls, Sledgehammer, and Boat Eater. You can also expect to gain some knowledge of local wildlife, area history, and the Arkansas River Valley from your experienced river guide. For these reasons and many more, the Royal Gorge river rafting trip is a favorite of locals and visitors alike.

Our full day Royal Gorge rafting trip begins with a morning of class II and III rapids in the Bighorn Sheep Canyon. You’ll then enjoy a hearty, delicious, riverside meal before embarking on an afternoon of excitement in the Royal Gorge.

In order to participate in the Royal Gorge Adventure-Class Whitewater trip, guests should be in good physical condition and should be able to swim. The minimum age recommendation for this white water rafting trip is between 14 and 18 years depending on water levels. We typically see peak water levels in early June.
